Summary: One look through the magnifying glass at the stamps that Jeremy receives from his great grandmother, in a package he figured would just be a bunch of junk, and his body is frozen starring into a magnifying glass over stamps while his body is transported to ships of the past. His body is like a ghost, but he is able to move things! The fuels the ghost stories and belief of the sea man of the past. These ship arent just any ships either! They are ships embroiled in major historical battles or important moments in Canadian history. This happens not just once but over and over! But, when Jeremy finds out that and ancestor was possibly saved by a "ghostly" hand and his great grandfather spent hours sitting over the stamps he begin to wonder more and more about his families past...
Reading Log: Cora Taylor uses an exciting anecdote in order to take readers on an adventure in history! I loved the stamps in the corners and the old script chapter numbers. It transports the readers in time just like the story! Right from the beginning you are sucked into this easy to read adventure and it makes you want to cancel your plans and until your done! No wonder Cora is a beloved Canadian children's author!
