Annotation: Alego and her grandmother go on a clam digging expedition near their Baffin Island home that is both educational and beautiful.

Summary: Alego and her grandmother go on a clam digging expedition near their Baffin Island home. Alego looks at all the various creatures living in the tide pools. After the day, Alego and her grandma head home for a dinner of clams (as they call it in the bilingual edition: ammuumajuit). The illustrations are drawn in child-like style of drawing and ends in a glossary of area specific-tide pool life.

Reading Log: I love this story for the authentic style of illustrations as well as ANY book that has an educational component. It feels authentic which is really endearing. However, I am not sure if children will be as drawn to it as much as I am. It has a somewhat dry feel. Otherwise, a beatiful must read in terms of it's subject matter and dimension!
